Monday, April 18, 2005 Quote of the Day "Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." -Albert Camus- ======================================================= This will be a short entry. First of all, I would like to congratulate my sister and her school concert band for obtaining a gold medal for the syf performance. It was indeed one huge rock off the shoulder. Glad that all the time and effort you people spent has not gone to waste. Cheers! Went back to school twice last week. It was a&f meeting on Tuesday and some talk-cum-gathering on Friday for the year 3s who will be leaving us real soon... The latter was well-planned and definitely be memorable for the school leavers. At least, they will have some memories to fall back on when they think of a&f and tp. One last thing. Sad to say, no more long hours of computer-gaming. I have found some serious work to do close to the nine-to-five ones. For now, I would just simply hope I will not meet any hazards nor any form of "danger" on the first day of work. May the force be with me. (Although, I know I have a foul luck these day... Sigh!) Before I forget I have something for everyone to try out. It is a short spelling quiz. Enjoy! Wednesday, April 06, 2005 Quote of the Day "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." -Henry Ford- ========================================================== Was pretty lazy to write a new entry. It must have been the lazy bug which is biting me again. These few days, I have been slacking all day long. The main activity (70% of the day) would either be spent on playing Runescape, Sims 2 or just watching the television. Sounds like I'm wasting my life... But what else can I put both my hands to do when it's holiday? Okay, I promise I will have a change for more meaningful activities on effect from today. Last Friday, I had a good time with my secondary school fellow Red Cross members. Or should I call them my juniors? We had a visit at Jamiyah Home. It is an old folks' home which takes care of aged people who mostly do not have a home to stay in. I used to pay a visit every Saturday when I was doing my NYAA with Candice and Eng See. The place has not even changed at all since my last visit in year 2002. This time, it was Juanda who invited me to come along. Mr Halim was presented too. The people in-charge gave us a tour around after which we made our way to the hall for the tea-break serving. The tour was not at all interesting because the places he showed I have already seen and been to. But I suppose it proved beneficial for those who came for the first time. In the hall, the members were mostly scattered to mingle with the old folks for a chit-chat session. It was then followed by some small performance by the old folks and later our members. The food serving was fun. I always enjoy doing it. It was rather a short visit. We did not do any manual work unlike the other time I came with my batch of members. But still, it was a pleasant experience. Oh... I actually forgot to mention that I was 15 minutes late that day because I took the wrong bus. Pretty dumb, right? I don't know what is wrong with me these days. Perhaps, I was dreaming while waiting for the "wrong" bus. The bus number is correct but the street area which the bus is going is not the one I wanted to head to. I told my sister during that night and she nearly laughed her head off. It was mainly because the "wrong" bus takes the route to her school. Another thing, I saw quite a handful of the familiar faces on the street on the same day itself. I have no words for them, just hope that they are coping well with their new lives... |
